In times like this, many charities have supported millions throughout the world both mentally and financially, spreading hope in a dark time. To support these charities we've decided to put together an anthology of stories about a hero who spreads hope in his own universe, and in a way, ours too. This volume will focus on the original Doctor, as portrayed by William Hartnell.

Our chosen charity for this anthology is 'Samaritans', a charity important to us. Any profits made from this collection of short stories and artwork will go to this charity in thanks for their work.

We plan to publish our book as an eBook, with a limited edition paperback also being published at the same time. This will likely be the end of 2021 or start of 2022.

We would like any submissions to fall into one of these categories:

Short Stories (1000-2000 words)

Flash Fiction (~500 words)

Artwork (no copyrighted images allowed)

Anything else you wish to pitch within reason

As this is a charity publication, we cannot pay you for your work and it is given as a voluntary contribution with full credit. Submitting a piece does not guarantee inclusion and any decisions will be emailed to you.

Submissions are currently closed, however if anyone wishes to submit a late piece we will consider it

Any submissions can be emailed to

theoriginal1963@gmail.com

You can either submit a proposal or a completed piece. It would be appreciated if in the main body of your email you let us know what your story is about and/or what it hopes to achieve. We ask that you try to fit your stories with the tone of the era and not include mature content. Use of the Daleks and any current TV era creations is also not allowed. This is an unofficial product and not associated with the BBC in any way.

We encourage you to be as creative as possible with your stories, but we do have a few guidelines:

Stick to existing companions, don't invent your own

Try to fit it as much into existing continuity as possible

Don't attempt your own 'lore changes'

Don't use your story to voice your grievances about the show

No multi-Doctor stories
